(In Chapter 2 of How to Heal the Sick and Yourself through Jesus Christ.)
If you had a bad childhood, teenage years, middle age, or senior life, please continue reading this book. Everybody has a sad story somewhere in their life. Sometimes it is when you are a child; sometimes, it is when you are a teenager or in your twenties; and sometimes, it is when you get older. Noah had a sad story when he had to build the ark; Jesus' mother, Mary, had a sad story before Jesus was born; they wanted to kill her because they thought she and Joseph had sinned; Moses had a sad story before he led the Jews free from the Egyptians, the Israelite had a sad story before they reach the promised land. Everyone has had a sad story; they just don't talk about it. I don't care how rich or happy people appear to be; they have or will have a sad story in their life. What you can't do is blame someone else. If you want to blame someone, blame yourself. You will never find your mission in life because you are too busy thinking about the past. The reason God allowed you to have the sad story is that it was to make you strong and prepare you for your mission in life. If you continue to dwell on the past, you can never be happy because you will never look at the future and find out why God created you in the first place. By the way, I have a sad story; I just don't talk about it. (No matter what sad story you have, you should thank God because it could have been worst.)
One of the main reasons you have a sad story is because of the words coming out of your mouth. You see, you created your sad story with your words. Your words will put you on top of your life, or they can sink you to the bottom. The life you're living now is the result of the words that you have spoken in the past. If you don't like the life you are living, then speak new words that can help you. Life and death are in the power of the “tongue." Proverb 18:21, The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences. In the Bible, God tells us how this great future can come to pass in our lives. It comes to pass through our words. God has ordained our words to be the rudder of our lives. What we say will determine our destiny. Solomon says, "From the fruit of his lips a man is filled with good things as surely as the work of his hands rewards him" (Proverbs 12:14). If you had a choice between having good things or bad things, wouldn't you choose the good things? Of course, you would. Well, how do you get the good things? By the fruit of your lips. Yet God says that your tongue can produce the same kind of results as the work of your hands. Solomon is saying that a man is filled with good things by the fruit of his lips. From the fruit of his mouth, a man's stomach is filled; with the harvest from his lips, he is satisfied. The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit (Proverbs 18:20–21).
