There is an old saying that says “Sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me”. That old saying is as wrong as two left shoes! Proverbs 18:21 says “The tongue has the power of life and death.” You see, you think you are sick trying to get well, but in reality you are well and the devil's trying to convince you that you are sick.
Your words can either make a situation better or make a situation worse. There is much power in your words! In other words there's power in what you say. Proverbs 15:1 says “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger”.Have you ever tried to argue in a whisper? It is equally hard to argue with someone who answers gently.
On the other hand, a rising voice and harsh words almost always trigger an angry response. To turn away wrath and seek peace, choose gentle words. Usually to end a conversation if I can't get a person to understand I would just say you're right, that way the conversation is over. When you have an argument with someone, you have to be very careful not to sow bad seeds into the relationship. Words, once spoken, are very difficult to take back! Especially if you are an anointed person. (Anointed person or people are chosen or declare chosen by God) Proverbs 4:23 says to guard your heart, for out of it flows the issues of life.
Our heart – our feelings of love and desire – dictates to a great extent how we live. We are told to guard our heart above all else, making sure we concentrate on those desires that will keep us on the right path.Make sure your thoughts push you in the right direction. Put boundaries on your desires: don't go after everything you see. Look straight ahead, keep your eyes fixed on your goal, and don't get sidetracked on detours that lead to sin.Matthew 12:35-37 says “A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”Matthew 15:18-20 says “But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart, and these make a man unclean.
For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. These are what makes a man unclean”. And, if you dwell on them long enough, your thoughts can lead to actions with negative consequences. We work hard to keep our outward appearance attractive, but what is in our hearts is even more important. The way we are deep down inside (where others can't see) matters more to God. 1 Samuel 16:7 says “The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart”.The words you speak are a good indicator of what is in your heart.
What kinds of words come from your mouth and what are you like inside? If you think and say negative words, that's how people will think of you and more likely than not, that is how your life will turn out. Examples: I'm stupid; I'll never amount to anything; I always get sick every September; I'm going to have to take this medicine for the rest of my life; This runs in my family. When you say these negative things, you are prophesying to yourself and you can have what you say! If you have doubt and unbelief in your heart, that's what you will think and say. If you believe in your heart that you can never be successful, you never will be. But, if you believe in your heart, have faith, and say you can do it, you will!
When people become Christians, God changes them on the inside. And, He will continue this process of change inside them if they only ask. God wants us to seek healthy thoughts and motives. If you're sick, the Bible says that by the stripes of Jesus you are healed. If something is upsetting or frightening you, the Bible says that no weapon formed against you will prosper. If you can't pay your bills, the Bible says that God will supply all your needs.
We encourage you to read and study the Bible every day and find scriptures that relate to your circumstances. Then, faithfully and frequently declare out loud what the Bible (God's Word) says about your situation. These are spiritual Weapons and you must learn to use God spiritual weapons in order to fight back unclean spirits.Choose your words carefully, get rid of your negative thoughts, your negative attitude and all your complaints, and see how much better your life can be. The Israelite’s complained after they was freed from the Egyptians and you see what happened to them, 40 years running around that wilderness. They did it to themselves with their complaints, with their words. If you are saved, God is your Heavenly father. He loves you and wants the very best for you. And, always remember, there is much power in your words.
